Booking a Bali Komodo boat tour takes five steps: choose your trip, message us on WhatsApp, let us hold your cabin, pay a 50% deposit to confirm, then settle the balance 14 days before departure and receive your e-ticket. Most guests complete the whole process in under 24 hours, and same-week bookings are possible when cabins are open.
This page walks you through exactly how the booking works with our team — a Komodo tour company operating komodo boat tours and Bali-to-Komodo crossings since 2015, part of Komodo Luxury (TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice 2023–2025, 4.8 stars from 152 Google reviews, 858+ bookings). No forms that disappear into an inbox, no waiting days for a quote. You talk to a real person, you get real availability, and your cabin is locked the moment your deposit lands.
Step 1 — Choose Your Trip
Before you message us, it helps to know roughly what style of trip you want. There are three main formats:
- Day trip from Labuan Bajo — from USD 90 per person. Fly Bali to Labuan Bajo in the morning (or stay the night before), join a speedboat day tour to Padar, Komodo, and Pink Beach, and be back by sunset. Best for tight schedules. See the Komodo boat tour overview.
- 3D2N shared liveaboard — from USD 215 per person. The most popular format: three days and two nights sleeping on the boat, covering Padar, Komodo Island, Pink Beach, Manta Point, and Kalong Island. Boats range from budget phinisi like Malca to superior cabins on Ayvara and suites on Naturalia. Full breakdown on the 3D2N itinerary page.
- Private charter or Bali departure. Private boats like Riley (USD 3,950–4,150 per trip) or Catnazse (USD 6,250–9,000) give you the whole vessel. If you want to sail all the way from Bali, our 4D3N Bali-to-Komodo crossing on Lady Grace starts at IDR 22.5 million per cabin — details on the Bali to Komodo page.
Not sure which fits? Compare every vessel on our boats page and current rates on the prices page. And if you genuinely have no idea, skip to Step 2 — telling us your dates, group size, and budget is enough, and we will shortlist two or three options for you.
Step 2 — Message Us on WhatsApp
Once you have a rough idea (or even if you do not), send us a message on WhatsApp at +62 811-3823-875. This is genuinely the fastest way to book — our reservations team replies quickly during Indonesian business hours (GMT+8) and usually within a few hours outside them.
To get an instant, accurate answer, include these four things in your first message:
- Your preferred travel dates (or a date range if you are flexible)
- Number of guests, and whether any are children
- Trip style: day trip, shared liveaboard, or private charter
- Rough budget per person, in USD or IDR
We reply with live availability, cabin photos, the exact itinerary, and a total price with nothing hidden. One thing to budget separately: the Komodo National Park entrance fee of around IDR 650,000 per person, which is set by the park authority and paid on top of most boat rates. We will always state clearly whether park fees are included in your quote. You can also start from the booking page, which sends your details straight to the same WhatsApp line.
Step 3 — We Hold Your Cabin
When you tell us “yes, I want that boat on those dates,” we place a hold on your cabin or charter immediately — before any money changes hands. A hold typically lasts 24 to 72 hours depending on the season and the vessel, and it means the operator cannot sell that space to anyone else while you arrange payment.
This matters more than most travelers realize. In high season (April to November, especially July–August), popular boats like Ayvara and Naturalia sell out weeks ahead, and shared-cabin departures fill one bed at a time. The hold gives you breathing room to book flights, check with your travel partner, or simply sleep on it, without losing the cabin. If the hold is about to expire and you need more time, just tell us — we extend where the operator allows it.
Step 4 — Pay a 50% Deposit to Confirm
Your booking becomes official when we receive a 50% deposit of the total trip price. Once the deposit clears, you get a written booking confirmation listing your vessel, cabin category, departure date, meeting point, inclusions, and the balance due date.
Payment methods we accept:
- International bank transfer (USD) — the standard option for overseas guests; we invoice in USD, and transfers typically arrive in 1–3 business days.
- Indonesian bank transfer (IDR) — instant, ideal if you are already in Indonesia or hold a local account.
- Credit or debit card via secure payment link — Visa and Mastercard accepted; a small gateway fee (typically around 3%) applies, and we state it upfront.
- Wise and similar transfer services — a popular low-fee middle ground for guests in Europe, the UK, Australia, and the US.
All payments go to the company account named on your invoice — we will never ask you to pay a personal account, and we recommend you treat that as a red flag anywhere in Indonesia. If you prefer, split payments among your group are fine; just tell us who is paying what.
Step 5 — Settle the Balance 14 Days Before Departure and Receive Your E-Ticket
The remaining 50% balance is due 14 days before your departure date (H-14). We send a reminder a few days before it falls due, so you do not have to track it yourself. For bookings made inside the 14-day window, full payment is simply due at the time of booking.
Once the balance clears, we issue your e-ticket and final trip documents by WhatsApp and email. Your e-ticket pack includes:
- Boarding details: exact meeting point, check-in time, and crew contact number
- Your day-by-day itinerary and packing list
- Park fee and ranger arrangements for Komodo National Park
- Emergency contacts for our team, reachable throughout your trip
Show the e-ticket on your phone at boarding — nothing needs printing.
What Happens If the Weather Turns?
Komodo sailing conditions are generally excellent from April to November, but the sea always has the final word. Here is our weather policy, plainly stated:
- If the harbormaster closes the port or the captain judges conditions unsafe, your trip is rescheduled to the next available departure at no cost, or moved to alternative dates that suit you.
- If rescheduling is impossible — for example, you are flying home — we work out a fair resolution, which can include a credit toward a future trip or a refund of unused services, handled case by case and in writing.
- Itinerary adjustments at sea (swapping the order of stops, sheltering a route) are made by the captain for safety and do not constitute a cancellation. In practice this is rare in dry season and almost never costs you a highlight.
Safety decisions are never negotiable, and no reputable operator in Labuan Bajo will sail against a port closure — be wary of any that say they will.
