A Komodo boat tour 3D2N is a 3-day, 2-night liveaboard share trip from Labuan Bajo covering Padar Island, Komodo dragons, Pink Beach, Manta Point and Kalong Island. With Bali Komodo Boat Tour — part of award-winning Komodo Luxury, operating since 2015 — cabins start from USD 215 (IDR 3,550,000) per person, all meals included.
If you only have one boat trip in you this year, make it this one. The 3-day, 2-night format is our flagship product for a reason: it is the shortest itinerary that lets you see every headline site in Komodo National Park — the Padar viewpoint at sunrise, wild Komodo dragons, the famous Pink Beach, manta rays at Manta Point, and thousands of flying foxes at sunset — without the rushed, seasick pace of a one-day speedboat dash. Below you will find the exact day-by-day itinerary we run, the real cabin prices from our 2025–2026 booking data (858+ confirmed bookings), the boats available on each departure, and how booking works. Prices are shown in USD first because 90% of our guests come from Italy, France, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, the US and Australia.
Why 3 Days 2 Nights Is the Sweet Spot
Komodo National Park is big — roughly 1,733 km² of islands and marine reserve, a 2–3 hour cruise west of Labuan Bajo. A 1-day speedboat trip works if you are short on time, but you will spend most of the day in transit and see each site for 45–60 minutes. A 2D1N trip is a good compromise. The 3D2N share trip is where the experience changes character entirely:
- You sleep inside the park. Anchoring overnight near Padar or Komodo Island means you reach the Padar summit at sunrise — before the day-trip crowds arrive at 10am.
- Two full snorkeling days. Manta Point, Pink Beach, Taka Makassar sandbank and Kanawa or Kelor on the way home. On a day trip you typically get one or two snorkel stops.
- The pace is human. Meals on deck, sunsets at anchor, no 5am hotel pickups except the first morning.
- Cost per experience is lower. From USD 215 per person including 8 meals, cabin accommodation, guide and all activities, it undercuts two separate day trips plus two hotel nights in Labuan Bajo.
If you are still weighing formats, our complete Komodo boat tour guide compares every duration and boat type side by side.
Komodo Boat Tour 3D2N Itinerary (Day by Day)
This is the standard shared komodo boat tour 3D2N itinerary we operate. Exact order can shift slightly with tides and ranger schedules, but every site below is included.
Day 1 — Labuan Bajo, Kelor, Rinca or Komodo, Kalong Sunset
- 08:00–09:00 — Pickup from your Labuan Bajo hotel or the airport (Bali flights landing before 08:30 usually connect the same day — see our Bali to Komodo guide). Boarding, safety briefing, welcome drink.
- 10:30 — First stop: Kelor Island. A short, steep 15-minute hike to a panoramic viewpoint, then snorkeling over the house reef.
- 13:00 — Lunch on board while cruising into the park.
- 14:30 — Rinca Island (or Komodo Island, depending on ranger allocation): guided trekking with a national park ranger to see wild Komodo dragons. Rinca has one of the densest dragon populations in the park.
- 17:30 — Anchor off Kalong Island for one of Indonesia’s strangest natural spectacles: tens of thousands of flying foxes leaving their mangrove roost at sunset.
- 19:00 — Dinner on deck, overnight at anchor.
Day 2 — Padar Sunrise, Pink Beach, Manta Point, Taka Makassar
- 05:00 — Early tender to Padar Island. The 30–40 minute hike (roughly 800 steps) to the viewpoint rewards you with the three-bay panorama that appears on every Indonesia travel cover — with sunrise light and a fraction of the midday crowd.
- 08:00 — Breakfast on board, then Pink Beach: one of only a handful of pink-sand beaches on Earth, colored by crushed red foraminifera. Snorkeling directly off the beach over healthy coral gardens.
- 11:30 — Manta Point (Karang Makassar). Your crew scans the channel for reef manta rays — sightings run above 90% in season, and drifting alongside a 3–4 meter manta is the moment most guests name as the trip highlight.
- 13:30 — Lunch, then Taka Makassar, a crescent sandbank in turquoise shallows. Swim, photos, pure postcard.
- 16:00 — Optional extra snorkel stop or relaxed cruising, sunset dinner, overnight at anchor near Komodo or Siaba Bay (a frequent green-turtle spot).
Day 3 — Komodo Island or Manjarite, Return to Labuan Bajo
- 07:00 — Breakfast, then a final morning activity: Komodo Island trekking (if not done on Day 1) or snorkeling at Manjarite / Kanawa Island.
- 11:00 — Cruise back toward Labuan Bajo, lunch on board.
- 13:00–14:00 — Arrival at Labuan Bajo harbor, transfer to your hotel or the airport. Book afternoon flights to Bali from 16:00 onward to be safe.

The Boats: Which One Should You Choose?
All our share trip vessels are traditional-style phinisi liveaboards with modern safety equipment, crewed kitchens and dedicated snorkel tenders. The honest way to choose:
- Malca (from USD 215) — the smart budget choice. Clean shared-style cabins, the identical itinerary and the same national park. If your priority is the destination rather than the vessel, this is the best value on the water.
- Ayvara (USD 400–515) — our most-booked boat, and the sweet spot for most couples. Air-conditioned en-suite cabins in Superior, Deluxe and Master grades, a spacious sundeck and a consistently praised kitchen. Master cabins sell out first in July–August.
- Naturalia (from USD 760) — a boutique phinisi with suite-grade cabins for travelers who want a luxury liveaboard atmosphere without chartering privately.
Photos, deck plans and cabin details for every vessel are on our boats page.
Departure Schedule & Best Season
Share trip departures run multiple times per week year-round, with daily departures in high season on the combined fleet. The best season for a komodo tour 3 days 2 nights is April to November — the dry season, with calm seas, 20–30 m underwater visibility and reliable Padar sunrises. July and August are peak months: book 4–8 weeks ahead for Ayvara Deluxe/Master and Naturalia cabins. December to March is the rainy season; trips still operate, seas are livelier and itineraries occasionally adjust for weather, but manta activity remains strong.
Getting There from Bali
Most guests fly Bali (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) — about one hour, USD 60–120 each way, with multiple daily flights. Land the day before or on a morning flight arriving before 08:30 and we collect you directly from the airport. If you would rather make the crossing itself part of the adventure, our Bali to Komodo boat tour — a 4D3N Lombok–Komodo route aboard Lady Grace from IDR 22,500,000 (~USD 1,365) per cabin for two, with an optional whale shark stop in Saleh Bay — turns the journey into a second expedition.

Frequently Asked Questions — Komodo Boat Tour 3D2N
How much does a Komodo boat tour 3D2N cost per person?
Share trip cabins with Bali Komodo Boat Tour start from USD 215 (IDR 3,550,000) per person on Malca, USD 400–515 on Ayvara depending on cabin grade, and USD 760 on Naturalia suites. All rates include 8 meals, accommodation, guide and activities. Add roughly USD 40 (IDR 650,000) per person for Komodo National Park fees, paid locally.
What is included in the 3D2N share trip price?
Two nights’ cabin accommodation on board, eight meals, drinking water, coffee and tea, snorkeling equipment, tender boat transfers to every site, an English-speaking guide, and hotel or airport pickup and drop-off in Labuan Bajo. Not included: national park entrance and ranger fees (~USD 40 per person), flights, and alcoholic drinks.
Will I definitely see Komodo dragons and manta rays?
Komodo dragon sightings on Rinca and Komodo Island ranger treks are effectively guaranteed — the islands hold resident populations of the world’s largest lizard. Manta rays are wild animals, but in-season sighting rates at Manta Point exceed 90%, and our crews check current conditions daily to pick the best drift window.
Is the 3D2N Komodo trip suitable for non-swimmers or children?
Yes. Life jackets are provided for all water activities, snorkel stops are optional, and the Padar and dragon treks are walking activities. Families join regularly; children under 12 should share a cabin with a parent. Tell us on WhatsApp when booking and the crew will assign a guide to stay close during snorkel sessions.
When is the best time to do a Komodo boat tour 3 days 2 nights?
April to November is the dry season — calm seas, excellent visibility and the classic golden Padar sunrise. July and August are the busiest months, so book cabins 4–8 weeks ahead. December to March trips still run with strong manta activity, but expect occasional weather-driven itinerary adjustments.
How do I get from Bali to the 3D2N departure point?
Fly Bali (DPS) to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) — about one hour, USD 60–120 each way. Arrive the day before or on a flight landing before 08:30 on departure day, and we pick you up directly from the airport. Alternatively, take our 4D3N Bali-route boat journey via Lombok and Saleh Bay.
